Javanese Wedding - Wedding Reception

The Wedding Reception:

After the wedding rituals, the reception follows. The newly-weds flanked by their parents receive blessings and greetings from the guests. In the meantime, one or two Javanese classical dances are performed (the classical love dance Gathot Kaca-Pergiwo, a fragment from a wayang story or the more modern love dance Karonsih).

While all the guests are enjoying the party and the lunch or diner offered, the sound of gamelan music echoes through the reception hall.
